May 2008

During the month of May, artist Lishan Chang was onsite producing and installing an exhibition in the Everist gallery of the Washington Pavilion for the Arts and Science featuring his concept, “LC Bakery”. The name, LC Bakery, full name is Lishan Chang Bakery, also refers to the working studio he used for producing charred bread and artistic creation. The charred bread produced by LC Bakery received a new identity called BLACKERY, anagram of LC Bakery, which is used as basic building blocks (basic mediums) for all works produced by LC Bakery. The installation included thousands of “blackery” as well as large format photographs and a scent and sound gallery.
